How often do US immigration officials and Customs and Border?
I can't give you numbers, but many of them are fluent in Spanish. All Border Patrol agents are required to take an intensive 6 or 7 week Spanish course at Basic training, so they at least have rudimentary Spanish skills. There are no similar requirements for other languages, but CBP does pay a premium for people with language skills.
